Dick & Alice, parents of Terry T share their story

Terry lived at home for 54 years. We were getting older and Terry was “running around and meeting the wrong people.” Our situation was getting out of hand. We knew Terry needed a structured environment and we wanted independence and support for Terry. However, we were unsure how to achieve that….

and then we found Friendship House.

TonyOur transition wasn’t an easy one, but the staff at Friendship House didn’t give up on him. Terry is now receiving the support he needs and is a happy, well-adjusted man who works Monday through Friday at the Vocational Training Center, earns a paycheck, is taken to doctor appointments, and has help grocery shopping and cooking. Seeing the growth and prosperity in Terry since he has started at Friendship House is truly remarkable. As parents, we are no longer worrying about the safety of our son or his overall well-being. Because of Friendship House, we are happy and so is Terry. Thank goodness we found Friendship House’s semi-independent living on their beautiful campus!
